Eco Terraces by Ecoworld - Full Carpentry & Kitchen Cabinet Project | Paya Terubong Penang
Project Description
For this Eco Terraces Type B project in Paya Terubong, Kitchen Story designed a complete carpentry package that covers the main living and private areas of the home.
The living room features a modern TV wall with a blue-grey suspended TV console, terrazzo-style feature panel, fluted detailing and rounded side panels. This creates a stylish focal point while keeping the TV area clean, light and spacious.
The dry kitchen was designed as a lifestyle and hosting area, with a clean island counter, tall storage, display shelves and a soft modern colour palette. The wet kitchen was planned for heavier daily cooking, using a practical L-shaped kitchen layout, sintered stone countertop, upper and lower cabinets, under-cabinet lighting and convenient kitchen accessories.
For the bedrooms, the carpentry design includes full-height wardrobes, study tables, bedhead feature panels, open shelving, glass wardrobe areas and vanity-style dressing features. The study room uses stronger colour contrast with a functional work desk, storage cabinets and display shelving.
To improve long-term function, selected cabinet areas include BLUM drawer systems and BLUM Aventos lift-up systems, helping the homeowners enjoy smoother operation, better access and more reliable cabinet performance.
Main Scope of Work
Custom Dry Kitchen Cabinet
The dry kitchen was designed as a clean and modern lifestyle area. It includes island cabinetry, tall storage, display shelving and a bright countertop surface suitable for light preparation, serving and family gathering.
Custom Wet Kitchen Cabinet
The wet kitchen was designed for daily cooking. It includes base cabinets, wall cabinets, sink area, hob area, hood placement, under-cabinet lighting, kitchen accessories and a practical L-shaped workflow.
Sintered Stone Countertop
Sintered stone was used for the kitchen countertop to provide a premium, durable and easy-to-maintain surface. It gives the kitchen a clean modern appearance while supporting daily use.
BLUM Drawer System
Selected drawers were fitted with BLUM drawer systems for smoother opening, better stability and long-term durability.
BLUM Aventos System
Upper cabinets were designed with BLUM Aventos lift-up systems, making it easier to access wall cabinet storage while improving the overall kitchen user experience.
Convenient Kitchen Accessories
The kitchen includes practical accessories to improve storage organisation. These help homeowners arrange cookware, tableware, bottles, dry goods and daily kitchen items more efficiently.
TV Feature Wall & TV Cabinet
The living area includes a custom TV feature wall with terrazzo-style feature panel, fluted vertical detailing, soft rounded edges and a long suspended TV console in blue-grey finishing.
Wardrobe & Bedroom Carpentry
The bedroom areas include full-height wardrobes, integrated bedhead features, study tables, bedside storage, open shelving and storage cabinets planned according to room function.
Master Bedroom Dressing & Wardrobe Area
The master bedroom includes a refined wardrobe and dressing area with glass panels, display shelves, fluted feature wall, blue-grey wall tones and warm lighting.
Study Room Cabinetry
The study room was designed with a work desk, display shelf, tall storage and stronger colour accents, creating a more energetic and personalised working space.
Design Concept
The design concept for this Eco Terraces project is based on modern contemporary living with personalised colour accents.
The home uses a combination of white, blue-grey, muted pink, terrazzo texture, marble texture, fluted panels and warm lighting. These materials help create a home that feels modern, youthful and stylish, while still remaining practical for everyday family use.
The living room and dry kitchen have a more refined and open feeling, suitable for family gathering and hosting. The wet kitchen is more function-driven, designed to support cooking efficiency and storage needs. The bedrooms and study room are customised with different design characters to suit each user’s lifestyle.
The result is a full carpentry project that feels coordinated, practical and visually distinctive.
Project Challenges
1. Coordinating multiple areas under one design direction
This project involved the living room, dry kitchen, wet kitchen, master bedroom, bedroom and study room. The challenge was to make each area unique while still keeping the whole home visually connected.
2. Balancing strong colours with a clean modern look
The design includes blue-grey tones, muted pink cabinets, terrazzo patterns and darker wardrobe elements. These colours needed to be carefully balanced so the home would not feel too heavy or visually messy.
3. Creating practical storage for a family home
A landed or terrace home requires more storage than a small condominium. The challenge was to provide enough cabinetry for daily living while keeping the interior open and comfortable.
4. Separating dry kitchen and wet kitchen functions
The dry kitchen needed to feel elegant and suitable for light use, while the wet kitchen needed to support heavier cooking, cleaning and storage.
5. Making bedroom carpentry functional without overcrowding the rooms
The bedrooms needed wardrobes, study areas, dressing features and storage, but the design still had to maintain comfort, movement space and natural light.
Our Solution
Kitchen Story planned each area according to its function while maintaining a consistent modern design language.
For the living room, we created a clean TV feature wall with fluted details, terrazzo texture and a suspended TV console. The use of blue-grey finishing and soft curves gives the space a modern and premium look.
For the dry kitchen, we designed a bright and elegant layout suitable for serving, display and daily family interaction. The island counter and tall cabinet storage help improve both function and appearance.
For the wet kitchen, we focused on practicality. The L-shaped layout allows a better workflow between the sink, preparation area, hob and storage. Sintered stone countertop, under-cabinet lighting, BLUM hardware and kitchen accessories were included to support long-term daily use.
For the bedrooms, the cabinetry was customised to fit each room’s purpose. The master bedroom includes a wardrobe and dressing area with a more premium feel, while the secondary bedroom and study room include storage, work desk and display features.
This approach allowed every space to serve a clear function while still looking coordinated as one complete home design.
