Kitchen Story Sdn. Bhd. completed this custom cabinetry and interior design project at Skycube Residence, Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, Penang. The project focused on creating a practical, modern, and clean home environment through customised kitchen cabinetry, bedroom wardrobes, and functional built-in storage solutions.

For this project, our job scope included interior design for the kitchen cabinet, custom kitchen cabinet fabrication, bedroom wardrobe works, quartz stone countertop, BLUM soft-closing hinges, BLUM soft-closing drawer system, white melamine cabinet carcass with ABS edging, and colour melamine ABS edging doors and panels.

The kitchen was designed with a modern dark-toned cabinet concept, paired with a clean quartz stone countertop for a balanced and practical appearance. The cabinet carcass was built using white melamine with ABS edging, while the doors and panels were finished with colour melamine ABS edging doors, creating a durable and neat finishing suitable for daily use.

In the bedroom, the wardrobe and bed area were planned to maximise storage while maintaining a clean and comfortable layout. The dark wood-style wardrobe finish creates a warmer and more mature bedroom atmosphere, while the built-in design helps make better use of the available space.

Design Concept

The design direction for this project is modern, practical, and space-efficient.

The kitchen uses a darker cabinet colour palette to create a modern and slightly industrial look, while the quartz stone countertop keeps the space bright, clean, and easy to maintain. The combination of dark cabinetry, white countertop, black-framed glass partition, and warm lighting gives the home a more refined and contemporary feel.

For the bedroom, the wardrobe was designed with a dark wood finish to create warmth and visual depth. The wardrobe was built close to the bed area to maximise vertical storage, making the room more practical without wasting wall space.

The kitchen cabinet was designed for practical daily use, with proper countertop space, appliance planning, storage areas, and comfortable workflow between the cooking, washing, and preparation zones.

The quartz stone countertop provides a clean and solid work surface, while the darker cabinet finishing gives the kitchen a modern look. This combination is suitable for homeowners who want a kitchen that looks premium but remains practical for everyday cooking.

The doors and panels were finished with colour melamine ABS edging doors, creating a neat and consistent external cabinet look.
