The kitchen became the main highlight of the home, featuring blue nyatoh wood spray-painted kitchen cabinets, quartz stone countertops, BLUM drawer systems, and Aventos lift-up fittings for smoother daily use.

This project was designed for homeowners who wanted a home that feels stylish, comfortable and practical, while still maximising storage and usability within a condominium layout.

Project Description

For this Tree Sparina condominium renovation, Kitchen Story created a complete residential interior solution covering the kitchen, living area, bedroom, wardrobe area and bathroom.

The kitchen was designed with a bold yet timeless look using elegant blue nyatoh wood cabinet doors with spray-painted finish. The dark cabinetry is paired with white quartz stone countertops, white subway wall tiles, gold handles and black kitchen fittings, creating a premium contrast that feels both modern and classic.

The layout includes tall storage cabinets, built-in fridge housing, base cabinets, wall cabinets, display glass cabinets, kitchen island and functional countertop space. Premium hardware such as BLUM drawer systems and Aventos lift-up mechanisms were included to improve comfort, durability and long-term usability.

Beyond the kitchen, the project also included a master bedroom open wardrobe, bathroom feature design, wainscoting wall detailing, curtain installation and coordinated lighting selection. The living and bedroom spaces were kept bright and elegant with white wall panels, blue curtains, soft lighting and carefully selected furniture elements.

Design Concept

The design concept for this project combines classic elegance with modern practicality.

The dark blue cabinetry gives the home a bold and premium identity, while the gold handles, white countertops and clean wall panels balance the overall look. The kitchen design carries a strong European-inspired character, but the layout remains practical for daily Malaysian home living.

The use of wainscoting, soft curtains, round mirrors, black fittings and warm lighting helps connect the whole home into one consistent design language. The result is a home that feels elegant, comfortable and suitable for long-term residential use.

Challenges

1. Maximising storage within a condominium layout

Condominium spaces often come with fixed wall positions, limited kitchen width and restricted service areas. The challenge was to create enough kitchen storage, wardrobe storage and living comfort without making the unit feel crowded.

2. Balancing dark cabinetry with a bright interior

The homeowner selected a strong dark blue cabinet colour. If not planned properly, the kitchen and living area could feel heavy or visually dark.

3. Coordinating full house renovation details

This project involved multiple scopes including cabinetry, wardrobe, bathroom, wall panel design, curtain and lighting. The challenge was to make every area look consistent instead of separate or mismatched.

4. Creating a premium kitchen with practical daily function

The kitchen had to look elegant while still supporting daily cooking, storage, cleaning and movement.

Our Solution

Kitchen Story planned the kitchen with a strong storage system using tall cabinets, base cabinets, island storage and wall cabinets. The cabinet layout was designed to make full use of available wall space while keeping the kitchen walkway functional.

To balance the dark blue cabinetry, we paired it with white quartz stone countertops, white subway tiles, bright wall finishes and warm lighting. This helped the space remain elegant without feeling too dark.

For long-term performance, we used quality fittings such as BLUM drawer systems and Aventos lift-up mechanisms, giving the homeowners smoother cabinet operation and better durability.

The full house design was tied together with wainscoting, curtains, black fittings, gold details and coordinated lighting. This created a consistent elegant theme from the kitchen to the living area, bedroom and bathroom.
